Screwed Back

THE SCREWS

They are like screws.Like how an instrument needs fixing at all the right places with perfect size of these little things to fit in.They may vary in size when accounted together but they fit unparalleled to any other. No replacements happen here. It's a customised arrangement and everything is in place for a reson.

I am dusting the memorabilia of my group of girl friends from school days.
We haven't bothered to name the group like "super ten or "jungli billiya" or "hum paanch" and many such labels. We don't like labels.Guess this brings out our common feature of letting everyone to evolve as and when we do.Not a stickler for a particular identity.I think that has played the most significant catalyst to be able to flaunt the rare 15 year old companionship we have had.I know for everyone in their hearts of hearts, fear the mortality of relationships or have seen people growing out around us & we shudder to even imagine anything like that happening to us after all those years.
We are a  team of 5 girls going strong for 15 lovely years. We have seen each other at their worst and best till date.We have seen each other collapse at failures & jive at wins.We have followed that tear dropping down each other's cheeks and discovering smile lines and crow feet.We have passed on the sanitary napkins when those eye balls got bigger and brows gathered to make frown lines, in the middle of stern looking teacher's class. We bunked classes & skipped recess to make some unforgettable stunts to look back & cherish.
I don't want to name each of them,i want to call them by their best asset...their strongest feature that has become a synonym to their existence for all us.And again it's not labeling...it is my recognition of their special acquired or inborn talent.

The Artist : She was probably the most sought after artist in my batch.A Lister intermediate student who took up teaching in school at kharghar as a drawing teacher over working in a firm as a commercial artist. She was always so sure of what she wanted in life. And if she could not manage to get hold of it, nothing detered her from using the  back up.But rarely did we find her stammering and aide tracking from her wants and ways. She looks ideal as much as she is, & that has benefited the rest of us on various occasions to save our arse in distress. She is an Aries, head strong could easily fit as prefix for her. With cooking skills at hand she managed to make our cookery classes in school seem like a fairy tale. She had just one of us at hand, rest all just fooled around till the task was over, waiting to taste the creation.

The Correct girl :
At cooking, she is the only one who lends a helping hand to the artist, almost always.I wonder how she manages to stay correct at all times. She has never had a tiff with anyone in the group as of now & I mean 15 long years by that. How is that possible?!...I prefer not brain storming on it as long as she continues doing that.I  feel it is people like these from the planet of stability that make the universe of friendship move in their orbits unperturbed. They are like rahul dravid, they shuffle their objectives and positions to meet harmony and stability. It's a difficult space to operate from and i can only applaud this underdog knowing she would respond with "asa kahich nahi ahey ha",meaning no such thing..alright !
But we all want her to know that we know her worth like a safe investment we do with purchasing of gold.Everyone knows it will yield a decent "Jugaad" when need arises to shell out for a rainy day."Asli sona" of our group is a nutritionist by choice.Being the correct girl that she chooses to be, i haven't seen her out of shape and mind.Thankfully she is okay with change in hair style she sports which increases her well cultivated oomph factor each time.Words like Sultry and seductress could easily be replaced with her name. She is a scorpion & she oozes that as she struts around.

The Transformer :
I first came up with "the generator" thinking it was apt for her but settled for transformer instead. She exudes charm like climbers and creepers. She grows on your heart slowly but surely like creepers & climbers , she raises the beauty of  the object she climbs on without any fuss of credit. When she has done the climbing exercise she goes in for extracting that energy from your reluctant electrons and transforms you into a live wire.Hence "The transformer". She can sell flashy looking comb to a bald person and he will pay visit to a trichologist the same evening just so that he can use that new arrival.Such is the magnitude for her offerings, irresistible enchanting offers.
She,while in school, was a swimmer & played badminton. She loves sports and sets alarms happily to meet them.My first appreciation of hers was how she was hell bent on putting up alarm for early morning jog the next day, when we all screws had come over for an overnight stay at her place, the first ever for all of us.Next I remember is she pulling me in for this trek expedition with hills & trails slotted at Kulu in Himachal Pradesh. She had me in for some unforgettable experiences with joining of that trek group & she will never know that she has given me something to lean back on,until now.The transformer now works from abroad to generate the buzz and keeps the group in touch, intact like how she leaves us every single time.We all screws love & miss that palghar, nerul, & agar bazaar home as much as we miss her.Knowing she is the happiest where she resides now,we still wait for the transformer to shift back to India, selfishly.HAKK HAI BOSS !
